Taiwan #4: Tamsui

Taiwan #4: Tamsui

This is a coastal town which is only 30 min by train from the Taipei city. It feels like one of those islands in Hong Kong and is quite a getaway from the city life.

The clouds are a little weird here but that's how this long exposure turned out. Well, not that long, it was only a 30-40sec exposure but I only had my 'chicken leg' travel tripod with me with no cable release ... so it wasn't as easy!

Thanks again Eliat for taking me there. Next time we meet, I will have a proper tripod to show my respect.

Taiwan #3 - urban

Taiwan #3 - urban

An older part of Taipei - thanks Eliat for taking me there

I've done a lot of street signs, shopfronts and business signs over this trip. I've got to post some of these "still life" subjects as I find them really characterful and story telling about places we visited. Urban still has been one of my favourite subjects.

Taiwan #2: "Ah Fai"

Taiwan #2: "Ah Fai"

This motorbike catches my attention because it's got my brother's name on it "Fai". I don't know what they represent though.

Taiwan #1 - I am back!

Taiwan #1 - I am back!

I am back earlier in the week from a 3 week holiday with the family. We have gone to Taiwan (for the very first time), Hong Kong and a bit of Macau. I will be posting some shots as I have them developed and scanned. I didn't do a lot of photography this time due to the nature of the trip and have only taken about 20 rolls of film and some digital shots with the X100.

A couple of shots of the campaign of the presidential election, which is due to take place tomorrow. Good luck to everyone involved.

River Tamarama

River Tamarama

A shot I took recently at Tamarama, which makes it look a bit like a river. I like that, as we don't have that many interesting rivers in Sydney... but we have excellent beaches!

A shot to test the Xpan for my trip, which proves that the camera is working well.

See you guys in 2012 if I can't post another shot before the end of the year. I wish I can do a 1 Jan Sunrise this year too.
