Bouquetin

Bouquetin

Whilst on the mountain, we had the rare fortune of seeing bouquetin (a wild mountain goat). We never expected to see any.

At the end of the day, during our descent, we saw quite a few. Some with young, who were quite inquisitive.

I was so pleased that this bouquetin was in front of the huge waterfall in the distance as I took this. I had to hide behind a rock, as I didn't want to scare it. I held my breath as I pressed the shutter!

Picnic

Picnic

It was such a wonderful honour to meet Jérôme and Damiens family. After our ascent up the mountain, we stopped for a picnic for a couple of hours by this beautiful lake.

How to get sunburn - Lesson 1

How to get sunburn - Lesson 1

With the altitude being over 2500m, the sun is incredibly powerful, and you can burn easily - even with suntan lotion. It's quite deceiving, after walking for 4 hours, you don't realise that it's quite cold.
