Bacon Cheeseburger @ Bravo Burger

NT$190/US$5.89, comes with fries.

I got there at 6 and it was already packed. It continues to annoy me that every burger restaurant is doing such phenomenal business while serving atrocious burgers. I ended up eating at the bar counter lining the street.

The burger was cooked properly to medium as requested, but the beef tasted like one of those supermarket pre-packed burger patties: very bland, no beefiness from better cuts. The lack of proper searing resulting in no crust did not help.

Aside from the bland patty, there were other problems:

First, it had way too much bun. Huge bun is one of my pet peeves about burgers. It's such an easy thing to get right, yet so often it is wrong. The bottom bun here was more than an inch thick!

Second, the bacon was limp.

Over all it tasted like an average, nothing burger you're likely to find in diners across the U.S. So I suppose it isn't atrocious like the majority of burgers across Taipei, merely forgettable.
