A view of Jersey City, NJ from New York City (NYC)'s Battery Park with the 2010 lunar eclipse on the winter solstice displayed above the skyline. Last night’s lunar eclipse December 2010 was the first time since 1638 that an eclipse coincided with winter solstice, making it a historic event.

I felt given the height of the moon during full eclipse that it would have been obvious that I lowered the moon for this image. The colour combination is what i felt made the image work here. The moon was shot with a nikkor 50mm 1.8 and the skyline at Tokina 11mm - 16mm 2.8. I will post later a cropped version per a number of your suggestions.

For me Photography is a way to avail you the viewer of what i see or imagine and since i can't paint its the closest medium i can find that allows me to truly express what i see.

Thank you all for all the feedback - both positive and negative; i never edit the feedback ;) art that generates an emotional / visceral response and dialogue in my opinion is art.

If this were a shot for a newspaper or a fact driven media outlet then I am completely against any software / filter manipulation of any sort.
