Washington Square Park - Mar 2009

On the first warm Saturday afternoon in March, I decided to walk around Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village - on the assumption that people would be picknicking, sunbathing, and relaxing in the sun.

Unfortunately, I had completely forgotten that the park is in the midst of a major renovation project, and that most of it has been closed off from the public. But there was still one area -- on the eastern side of the park -- where people could congregate on benches, stroll around the sidewalks, and enjoy themselves.
