Babysitter and boy

Babysitter and boy by Ed Yourdon.
Central Park, north end - Aug 2008 - 01

This little boy was determined to bring these two sticks to his babysitter.

This was taken on the west side of Central Park, at approximately 101st Street. Nearly invisible in the background is a pond that, for reasons I don't understand, is referred on maps as "the pool."

********************************
On a pleasant, sunny late-summer afternoon, I decided to go for a stroll through a section of Central Park that I don't see very often any more: the northern loop, starting at 96th Street, and going up to the northern edge at 110th Street, and then back down along the Upper East Side.

Along the way, I decided to stroll through the Central Park Conservatory Garden, located at Fifth Avenue and 105th Street; for more details, click here.html. There were a number of flower gardens there, and I couldn't resist the temptation to photograph several flowers -- even though I don't know what any of them are.
