I measured about 10 stops between the sky and the wall below the windows. But the sky ... is blown... just. this similar shot did save the sky. I think that in 14bit RAW I could have saved the sky. I have yet to experiment with 14bit RAW and capture NX. For now I'm still amazed how much the JPGs give straight out of the camera.
