1927 Radio

My grandfather had built that radio himself. His name was Linus Andersson, born 1888 in Ovansjö - Storvik in Gästrikland. His wife Maria Lembke was born the same year and in the same parish. Agard (later with the taken surname Agerdal) to the right was a brother to Linus. Anna to the left was sister to Maria. My mother Margit was what can be called double-cousins to Agard och Annas children Ingeborg and Holger.

      Great photo and history!

Many people made their own radios back then because commercial ones were so expensive. Also, the homebrew radios were often better than most commercial ones since you could use the latest circuit (such as superheterodyne) without a license.
