      As in Victoria?

    2. itsme_jae (77 months ago | reply)

No idea where it is, but it could be an entry for the new game of 'found lettering boggle' that I've been pondering for a while

    3. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

Is that meant as a guess, TFOP? There are lots of buildings and monuments with "Victoria" in their name.

    4. trailerfullofpix (77 months ago | reply)

Not a proper guess yet. Just wondering if it was the letter V or the number V (5).

    5. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      It's a letter, not a number...

    6. andymag (77 months ago | reply)

Is there another letter close by like A for instance?

    7. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

There are numerous letters close by.

    8. andymag (77 months ago | reply)

      & A and museum?

    9. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Not the V&A.

    10. Baron von Beerfest (77 months ago | reply)

      Beautifully framed V.

    11. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Thank you.

It's not part of a shop name.

    12. Mags (77 months ago | reply)

      Hmmm...

The cup-and-dot markings inside the V make me think it's some anthropological museum...

is it actually a U which has been done as a V as cod latin?

      It's not an anthropological museum.

      It is actually a U.

    14. Mags (77 months ago | reply)

      Is it a museum?

(not that that helps much due to museum having two Us)

      It is not a mvsevm.

And it helps to narrow it down, either way.

      Palace of Westminster?

    17. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Afraid not.

    18. andymag (77 months ago | reply)

      Is it anywhere near kensington

    19. andymag (77 months ago | reply)

      Kensington Palace?

    20. courtkneeyo (77 months ago | reply)

      v is for vendetta

    21. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Quite!

      And for vnderhand.

But not for Vensington Palace, I'm afraid.

The V is part of the name of the bvilding, but not the first letter.

    22. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

IF... you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, perhaps you've misunderstood the situation...

    23. trailerfullofpix (77 months ago | reply)

      A place associated with Kipling?

    24. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Heh, heh. You've misunderstood, alright!

The new letters are a better clue to the name of the place than the V.

    25. trailerfullofpix (77 months ago | reply)

Oh, so the Kipling bit was a rvse, then.

    26. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

Well, I had the I and the F, which should give quite an enormous clue, and it just seemed to follow from that!

If I am right with this, I am very suprised that Mags didn't guess it.. (and Ben) Institute Francais...

    28. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Well done, Bravo!

I did try to give Mags a hint, and I was sure ben'd pick this when he got the other one, but burn out is a terrible thing.

    29. Baron von Beerfest (77 months ago | reply)

Bummer! I saw Ben's guess on the other one and automatically assumed he'd guess this as well without even bothering to check!

I feel a bit quilty when I let everyone else do the hard work then sneak in at the end with a correct guess.. Not much happening today so I thought I would try and clear up a few at the bottom of the pool... :-)

    31. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      Heh!

No need to feel guilty - things have been quiet for a while on this, despite MASSIVE hints.

And you saved me from a bp hat-trick today.

    32. Ben Jones Photography (77 months ago | reply)

ARSE. Was just coming back to this one when the office connection went down. Actually had to do some work.

    33. Baron von Beerfest (77 months ago | reply)

@Ben - guess where london is not your full time job?

    34. Ben Jones Photography (77 months ago | reply)

Sadly not. Though if ever the opportunity came up...

    35. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

      "had to do some work."

      My heart bleeds.

Still, two out of three aint bad.

    36. Mags (77 months ago | reply)

      I am shamed. /hangs head/

      We can HoF it though:
      Institut Francais, South Ken

    37. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

Heh heh - at least you're in good company!

I still think the HoF should only be for when shots are pretty similar. Interesting buildings and structures can have a lot of different angles on them which make for good guesswheres.

    38. Ben Jones Photography (77 months ago | reply)

Yes, I don't think this would qualify. I'm beginning to think we need to edit the HoF down to those things which have come up three or more times, the real GWL classics.

    39. Yersinia (77 months ago | reply)

Yes, I think it is in danger of getting too long for people to bother looking at it.
