Zoom with flash used, no photoshop.
To be a little more specific: I have attempted to do images such as
this before with a bit of success... here www.flickr.com/photos/7663216@N08/sets/72157602459561883/ , basically I zoom my lens over a 1/15 sec exposure, I attempt to
keep the desired object (in this case the leaf,) in the same portion
of my viewfinder throughout the zoom motion. While I zoomed I also
moved slightly left, if I were to zoom only, the point of focus would
be dead centre of the frame as opposed to lower right side. It's a
tricky technique to perfect but thanks to digital you can see your
result right away and continue to make adjustments in your movement
until you capture the desires result! I also used a off camera flash
in this image. I placed it infront of the tree trunk (notice some
detail in the bark, I think the flash may have added a bit of back
lighting on the focused leaf as well.

Saludos.

Hi, I am the administrator for a new group called Lens Painitng. This group is to gather the photographers that use in-camera techniques to create images that resemble paintings.
