Any idea what this flower is? A friend who is a professional gardener gave me a whole bunch of these plants she had removed from a clients garden.... they sat all summer without any sign of flowering and I was about to give up on them but they are "late bloomers" and this monarch spent a good hour sipping on this one, even fending off bees to do it. I suspect the monarch is fueling itself for the trip south.
flowrbx identified the flower as a fall blooming Sedum called Autum Joy Monarch info: World wildlife monarch watch. Ah ha check it out, this is a female! Journey South GREAT site for kids and teachers. They follow the migrations of various animals in spring and fall. Anyone can contribute information. Commentsmakeupanid

I need to look up the life cycle of the monarch..... This pupae couldn't have become this butterfly so fast could it.
