it was a rare moment of geniousness on my part, insiya! i think originally i'd been hoping the arch above me would block out the sun as i retreated into the doorway. but then the lamp was right there, and voila!

I may have forgotten to take macro shots of my pancakes (freakin' hell!) but this photo pretty much made my entire day by yaznotjaz.

This was the last photo I took on campus on Sunday afternoon; I'd spent several minutes being aggravated that I couldn't get a proper photo of the tower because the sun was in the way. In the end, though, as we were leaving, I backed into a doorway and aimed at the tower in such a way that the sun was blocked by the (unlit) lamp, and it all worked out pretty spiffily. The end.

'multiple strokes of geniusness' might be carrying it too far, but i am rather happy with how this turned out. it was my last, impatient attempt to get a shot of the tower, and i'm happy everything fell into place so well, composition-wise.

hahaha all my pancake references are for hashim, who essentially told me, 'photograph the campus, and if you come back from stanford with a macro shot of pancakes, i'm going to vomit.' which, of course, meant that i totally planned to take some food macro shots, just to piss him the hell off. but i forgot. sigh. next time, for sure! ;)
