IQ,
i like the bug's perspective a lot. =) hashim says i'm always either looking up at things, or looking down at things - because i'm short, of course. this is great reasoning for everything i do.

COMD,
come along and visit! that's my Kite Runner tshirt, by the way. =) i have some turquoise for you right HERE! seriously, was thinking of you when i uploaded that. =) will have to take footoos of my turquoise earrings for you, too.

IQ,
i do too much macro photography, i think, but i lowve it so much. i should expand to other estuff i'm not so good at sometimes - like portraits. i can't do portraits.

nahal,
hahahaha oh, crackstar. s'okay, yaara. do i need to send you my address? i just checked my gmail, and you had emailed me back in february (when you returned from the motherland, i think?) and mentioned bringing back something for me and asking for my address. and then i didn't follow up until months later. so... multiple exclamation points!!!! ;) my fault, too. sending you my address now. EXCITEMENT!

IQ,
i do like objects more, because they stay in one place and i can shoot 'em over and over. but people shift around, which makes portraits difficult with my little point&shoot (blur! ahh!). but i can also see how all that moving around would make for much more intriguing photography. and much more challenging than macros.

nahal,
just sent you my address!
also, send me yours - i have a flickr tshirt for you that i've forgotten to pass along. =)

i adore this shot sweet Yaz ~ it is painterly and pastoral and
makes me want to creep up beside you and read a book
sipping lemondade and playing records on my portable
record player that i covet so much these days:)

and i loved your book review and ordered the book:)

hi, umar! thank you for the fave. =)

maddie,
o mein gott, yaara, you have a PORTABLE RECORD PLAYER? dude! please bring it, and let's sit on the grass and play music and sip lemonade. i love this plan! and i'll bring my jump-rope and (soon to be purchased) hula-hoops, and we shall have a grand ol' time with that as well! thank you for the lovely comment, and i'm so excited that you've already gone ahead and ordered the book ('SUCCESS!' as hashim would say.) look, you can even read an excerpt of the Prologue on amazon!

this is fabulous, yasmine - just the right type and amount of background to complement the lush foreground macro

arjun,
thank you! this is what happens when i sit around in parks and pretend i don't have Important Things i need to get done. ;) i must have taken bajillions of photos that afternoon.

jerry,
thanks, buddy! i have a weakness for macros, and then the whole blurry bit in the background made me happy, too. (the trees are my favorite part, i think!)
PS: you get an extra HIGHFIVE for calling me 'yasmine.' i don't get enough of that online, i realized. =)

These are very sleathy laal jootay. Laying in wait, like a praying mantis or something. Maybe a little less camouflaged, though...

thank you all for the lovely comments!
red shoes are the ROCKINGEST, and i have so many pairs now, it's not even funny. and even then, i still wear my flipflops most of the time, so all the red shoes get abandoned, and i forget that i even own them. i never thought i'd say this, but i guess i can't wait just a tiny bit for fall or winter again, so i can wear close-toed shoes in comfort.

O,
maybe it's lying in wait for preeti's blackberry?! ;)

pari,
you TOTALLY made my day, buddy. so glad you loved the book! youuu are a total rockstar at following up, clearly!
