i'd been meaning to take some sort of footoo over the past year, to go along with that rocking poem. being the slacker that i am, it never happened until practically the last possible day.

i took a few other sitting-around shots (on my front porch, and on the walkway leading down to my sideyeard) - the bricks and colors came out nicely in those, but the focus and angles were all wrong. it was quite frustrating and made me realize why people invest in tripods. =)

finally, i just went and sat on the lawn, and took this footoo instead while enjoying the sunshine. and then i looked at it later and realized i liked this much better than the original concept i had been aiming for.

dudes, i just got home from my friends' wedding, and you all are absolutely amazing. thank you so much for the comments and lowve (LAU, as anjum and i are henceforth going to call it, except old habits die hard) and links and birthday wishes!

the wedding was beautiful, and i laughed so much, and made new friends, and highfived everyone at my table, including the bride and groom. we missed A ridiculously, but we talked about him so much that it was as if he were there all along.

it was my most favorite wedding i have ever been to.

i must go sleep now, but i shall be back tomorrow to catch up with all you beautiful rockstars. thank you again! you're all so much sunshine yourselves.

the funny thing is, besides the bajillions of amazing voicemails, textmessages, facebook posts, and flickr comments, only two people actually wished me a 'happy birthday' in person, and those were two buddies of mine at the wedding tonight. i didn't expect the bride&groom to be concerned with birthdays, which is completely understandable and i didn't even mention it to my table-mates there, and i didn't bring it up at the all-day gathering i was at earlier because i didn't want to detract from the spirit of that occasion and bring unnecessary attention to myself (i hate attention). but the hilarious/sweet part about that gathering was that it was also the birthday of another girl there, and so she got surprised with a song and candles and brownies. it was so sweet, and i was totally giggling to myself on the inside. =)

so, it felt like a birthday, but not, which is okay, because i like being totally low-key about such things. (that's why i post about it on flickr and not the weblog, of course - that somehow makes sense. but then you guys go and do such a rocking job of commemorating it on flickr, i'm just completely blown away! =))

sorry, forgot to clarify. it's because half of us who met up at ISNA that year were actually from the bay. the wedding was of the bay area girl and the boston boy, who had met in chicago. our buddy A was best friends with the groom. all their other college friends from boston came out for the wedding, too, and of course the bay area contingent of the ISNA crowd was also there. i hope this kinda makes sense?

thank you all for the beautiful comments on this footoo. i'm sorry, i didn't realize i never got around to replying. so much appreciated, though, rockstars. =) you all...just so much sweetness.

thank you, my friend! the year is halfway over and i feel like i didn't make as good use of it so far as i could have. but i'm still happy. it's been relaxing, and i did so need that. and the summer - the summer shall be all about travel and rockstar friends and re(new)unions! just thinking about it all makes me so happy. =)
