British engineer Guy Maunsell designed
these innovative WW2 forts, and their
remnants can still be seen off the east
coast of England. After U.K. military
decommissioning in the '50s, they have
housed pirate radio stations and
present-day preservationists. Algae,
rust, and peeling paint now add extra
character to the concrete, metal
fortifications. As seen here, you can
peruse the dilapidated accommodations,
serene vantage points, and inventive
architecture of these enduring relics.

I wonder why no developer has not looked into renovating these structures for secluded resort vacation revenue ?
