Hey Guys,
Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. The The Umbrella Foundation charity is a very worthy cause and I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for this charity. The Umbrella Foundation provides care for more conflict-displaced children in the Kathmandu Valley than any other INGO.
I was recently selected to participate in the Umbrella Volunteer Programme to work as a volunteer in Kathmandu next year in a children's home that cares for over 330 of Nepal's most vulnerable children. As part of a team of other young, international volunteers, I will be working with conflict displaced, disadvantaged children on the outskirts of the city, working on one o the eight homes that Umbrella runs.
The programme affords me a unique opportunity to work in the developing world and thus fulfill a long-held desire to understand the challenges of the developing world. While Umbrella facilitates the placement overseas, each individual volunteer is responsible for raising funds to contribute to the cost of involvement in the programme and is also asked to raise funds that will go towards caring for the children in Umbrella's care.
This year each volunteer has been asked to raise a minimum of €1,000. Any donation would be gratefully appreciated and will be added to my own personal contribution.

Depuis plusieurs mois déjà je prépare mon départ prévu pour février 2010 à Katmandou où je vais effectuer un volontariat humanitaire de trois mois minimum dans un orphelinat au sein de "The Umbrella Foundation".
Il s'agit d'une ONG très sérieuse demandant comme preuve de l'engagement véritable de chacun de ses volontaires, qu'ils réunissent au minimum la somme de 1,000 euros avant d'effectuer leur volontariat.
Cette organisation agit en faveur des enfants démunis du Népal. Depuis 2005, Umbrella Foundation recueille, loge, nourris et donne la chance d'aller à l'école à plus de 330 enfants des rues, orphelins ayant perdu leur parents à cause de la guerre civile et enfants sauvés des griffes des nombreux trafiquants sévissant dans le pays.

En plus d’offrir un foyer et l’accès à l'école aux enfants démunis du Népal, les membres permanents de l’association ainsi que les volontaires ont pour objectif de leur fournir un environnement affectif et les conditions matérielles dont ils ont été privés. Il s'agit de leur permettre de s'épanouir et d'en faire des adultes responsables et armés pour pouvoir faire face aux nombreuses difficultés sociales et économiques de leur pays.
