What do you do when you forget your magsafe adaptor?

Extra wires ground connected underneath the PCB directly to the pin. Vin connected to a big pad of an inductor right next to the plug.

You add a barrel jack connector!

I had forgotten my adaptor at the lab and went through the battery last night. Came morning there were centimeters of snow on the grown and it wasn't about to stop falling. Also I desperately needed to setup a somewhat permanent backup solution. I have to say the mod was quiet intense. At first the machine didn't turn on. No burning smell though. Try again... nothing... eeek... and then while inspecting the inside I noticed this pressure switch which connects to the top case. I pressed it in, pushed the power button and "bluuuung" boot chime :D

The adaptor is an old Dell 18.5V 3.6A adaptor. It's a bit under-specs and it won't charge. I haven't tried during sleep though. Doesn't seem to get warm though. And I've been compiling gtk and python all day and it's seems to be running smoothly!

Voilà! I was a happy interwebs camper again :D
