those are not coconuts. i believe they are betelnuts - "a mildly euphoric stimulant" that are chewed. its very popular in asia. i grew up in a tropical island and remember those palms. brings back memories. thanks!

Oh crap, really? I'm sorry to have misidentified it. This tree was right next to a bunch of nearly identical trees that held what my Guatemalan friends identified as "baby coconuts." I guess this isn't the same tree. I should have grabbed some!
