I'm very excited that the Spring issue of Jersey Shore magazine will not only have a photo of mine on the cover, but also include an 8 page feature on my photography. This marks the first time a photograph has been used as one of their covers instead of a painting. The issue will be available this upcoming week. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think!
Shortly after sunset, Comet PanSTARRS made an appearance above the horizon in the West. It was difficult to see with the naked eye, but the close to 8:00pm, it was pretty easy to pick up with an exposure of just 2 seconds. Maybe not the most impressive comet, but exciting none the less. More soon! Not the composition I had hoped for, but I don't own a telephoto lens and had to borrow a 300mm to take this and overall I'm very happy I had to chance to get a shot of it before it disappears.
The Milky Way stretches across the sky under this path to the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. The barrier island that Avalon is located on is known as the Seven Mile Island.
It's been a long while since I've been able to really get out and shoot in New Jersey and this was a great night. I got to the beach a little later than planned, but got shooting right away. Time always passes quickly on nights like this and before I knew it I was just about 5am. Definitely worth missing out on some sleep.
