I recently picked up a 50mm f/1.8D to add to my kit. I found a guy selling it for 80 bucks so I figured even if it doesn't live up to my expectations at least I didn't spend too much on it.
So far I've been pleasantly surprised. It can be a bit soft at f/1.8 but stopped down it gets pretty sharp. And the bokeh isn't too bad either. For 80 bucks; I'm more than happy with it's performance!

Perhaps it's time to invest in a zoom? I'm thinking a Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 if I can find one for a decent price.
But back to the photo; it's my gf and my Siberian Husy (Sigma is her name) playing tug of war with me as I'm taking her picture. Nothing makes a better test subject for a new lens than the family pet, right? ;)
