Michael was a good guy and a good colleague.
This is a great picture of him and the way
I will remember him.

This is the best picture of my cousin that
I've ever seen. That's the good ol' Michael
smile I loved.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael in
Texas, when he attended Texas A&M
University and later when he joined us at
Apple. I am totally devastated by the news.

Worked with him on and off for years on
various projects. I've talked with him,
listened to him, argued with him, and learned
from him. What a loss.

I worked with Michael quite a bit over the
years as an engineer on Apple's server
software team. He was an amazing advocate for
our products and was not afraid to tell us
where we needed to improve. He will be
greatly missed.

Michael was an old class mate of mine at
Cuero High School. A fond memory of him was
my freshman yr. Michael borrowed another
schools mascot outfit. He and some others put
a noose around its neck and proudly displayed
it at a football pep rally. I think he got
in alot of trouble and had to pay for a new
uniform. Everyone was chipping in and giving
donations for the cost. Its bring much
saddness to many that knew him to be such a
nice and outgoing guy. He was one who really
loved life and i bet everyone he met liked
him.

I remember one Christmas when we were about
ten years old, hanging out in a bedroom at my
grandmother's house, watching in rapt
fascination as my cousin Michael acted out
the entire Star Wars trilogy for me using his
action figures. After he finished the story
(complete with all the voices, of course) we
made up new adventures involving Han Solo
rescuing my My Little Ponies from the ice
planet Hoth.
Michael and I hadn't seen each other often
since college, when he went his way and I
went mine, but when my brother died two years
ago, Michael's hug was the one that meant the
most to me. I'm still in shock over this
whole thing, but I'm thankful that I have
such great memories of all those holidays the
two of us spent charting galactic crusades
together and curling up in side by side
sleeping bags.
I'll miss you, cousin. Our lives are
diminished by your loss, but you still left a
great light behind.

I also met him at WWDC2005 - he (along with
others from afp548) made that conference for
me. It'll be weird being there this year and
him not being around. He will be missed.

Michael was a great guy who had great
accomplishments. I am a relative of his and
although did not get to see him often, I
always heard of all his accomplishments from
his Mother Diana, who is also a wonderful
person. After reading all of the comments
and Michael's willingness to help others I
was proud to see that Diana passed this on to
Michael. Diana also played a large part in
his successs as she is a teacher and made
sure Michael was studying and learning the
things he should to succeed in this world.
WOW! to see the chain of how she taught and
trained him and how he taught and trained
others is just Amazing. Michael will be
greatly missed by his family and friends.

I'm going to say something Politically
incorrect,
I suspect I am not the only one that feels
a little guilty that we were not more
assertive in taming his wild side.
We tend to give successful people a pass in
that dept.
