      Looks quite naïve how the blood is painted. And I guess it's naïve too to think that he could rescue her by covering the monster's eye - just one - instead of attacking it with his bayonet.
      There is no happy end foreseeable I'd say.

      I think the soldier actually stabbed himself with his bayonet and not the monster. He's just grabbing its eye as he is falling to the ground.

      I sure wish I'd managed to save my collection of these cards!
      Funny how the woman here is rendered in convincing sculptural roundness, while the soldier is schematic and flat. Wonder if there weren't two artists in this one image.

      You are right. What a moron.

      That's why we have no 7-11 here in Germany. (But they still have them in Denmark. They should not complain when the green monsters attack. They could have known better!)
