This was perhaps the beginning of people in the west lusting to become machines. As we know from the Terminator, this feeling didn't pan out too well for humanity.

We can't live without it!
Most kids will know it's a computer from the iconic movie & TV images: tapes-a-twirling, paper flying everywhere, but after 100 years the Hollerith tabulator card is dead, paper tape is only a curiousity, even tractor-feed fanfold paper is obsolete. Even the flowchart is obsolete, eh Yourdon? The only things I see that remain are the QWERTY keyboard and the telephone handset.
