I find it hard to imagine the actual vista being more amazing than this photo! Way too cool. I love the way the composition works within the unusually vertical proportion of the frame. And looking at it gives me butterflies as if I am really that high up! :)

First off, it's obvious Briantipton just doesn't get it. Sure you could have cropped a wider, portrait shot, but you would lose the resolution in the process. Second, dude has obviously never been to St. Peter's. As one who has, I seriously appreciate the view and the lengths to which you took to get that picture.

As for the wide vs. tall issue... please. Yes it is a panoramic. Just the other way.

Anyway, I love the shot.
