Sweet & Salty Brownies: Stacked
The recipe for the famed Sweet & Salty Brownies from BAKED is available from their new book BAKED Explorations. Based on their Original Deep Dark Brownies (intensely chocolatey and fudgy), a layer of salted caramel in the center and sprinkles of fleur de sel provide the sweet and salty contrast so fashionable these days. I love the hint of smokiness from the homemade salted caramel sauce.
I took great care not to overmix so that little air was beat into the batter. This resulted in the fudgy texture as I remembered from sampling the brownies at BAKED's Brooklyn shop. I chilled the brownies overnight in the fridge for easier cutting.
