    The ocean is unbelievably deep-blue here in South Point (Ka Lae). The offshore currents and winds are notoriously powerful here.

    This is a boat hoist that raises and lowers boats into the water. This is a modern version of what was here in ancient times when natives used indigenous means to lower boats for fishing.

    Cliff jumpers also jump off them. The offshore currents and winds are notoriously powerful here and there is every possibility of getting dragged into open sea or swells that can bash you into the rocks.

      I saw this photo on tumblr and thought, "Hey, I've jumped off that!" With a little research I found your original photo and sure enough it is South Point. The day I was there the waters were calm and a bunch of people were jumping, and I couldn't resist.

      Great photo and I recommend others who have the chance to jump. It's a wonderful experience and I would have regretted not taking the plunge.
