This is an amazing composition with the glacier, the ground clouds/fog and the Milky Way. It must have been a special moment to see this 1st hand. This said I have to be candid and say that I wished the stars were sharper. Shooting at 2 minute open shutter is difficult to get sharp results. I've have had pretty good results on the D90 with a higher ISO when doing Star photography. Also the lower right corner is a little dark.
Or I could just say nice job and walk away.

But there is a dreamlike quality to this landscape which is simply the stuff of magic, I love it short star trails and all. Amazing colours and fantastic clouds. Just getting there was an adventure for you. I wouldn't be at all upset to have a picture like that!

I agree with the unfortuate star movement, but it is definitely a amazing capture ...Not that I have any experience photographying stars, but I've seen others use much higher ISO's on a crop camera with great results. 3200 would be pushing it, but 30 seconds would have limited start movement for a 10mm...you could have even manual blend/composite two different exposures as well. Especially with such great post processing tools, noise reduction and sharpening techniques out there I think it may be suitable even for print (but what do I know).... Anyway what a wonderful scene...nice job!

Superb! I agree with an earlier review regarding star sharpness. Why can't the damned things just stay put! Those tiny "imperfections" are what makes this photograph brilliant. Thanks for sharing!

Adding to the "everybody has different tastes" proof -- I like the stars' trails and the deep shadow contrasts with the lighting provided by Mother Nature, and the blue-green tinge reflected off the snow. (Are those lenticular clouds? Whatever they are, they're cool.) Thanks so much for sharing this pic.
