Former royal palace

This was the site of the royal palace (Luang Prabang used to be the capital of Laos before it was changed to Vientiane) before communists took over the government in 1975.

One of the interesting things I remember when I was there was that the King and Queen had separate bedrooms. I wonder why that was. Anyone knows?
