Don't really know where I was at this point, either heading towards, at or past Hard Knott Pass in the Lake District. Camera club trips tend to be something of a whirl-wind tour of the region we're visiting.
This photo was criticised for the inclusion of the feeding trough of which the judge couldn't see why it was there.
I figured it added a slightly more interesting foreground object than the usual rock dumped into the frame to save the foreground from being a barren wasteland and adds a bit of narrative about the area. Plus it sits on a diagonal into the frame as a bit of a lead in line. Well, that's what I thought anyway, maybe it didn't work as well as intended.
I doubt you'll be surprised to learn that it looks a bit better when viewed large on black.
