A new urban development in the Danish town of Rødovre calls for terraced houses - but with twenty identical houses down either side of one street comes a defecit of personality and individuality. Each house still keeps the same modernist exterior but the interior has many flexibilities so houseowners can make their house as personalised as they'd like.
I told myself I wasn't going to enter this contest, honest. "John, you've got a buttload of stuff to do; schoolwork and finishing off the third JOHN Collection before the end of the year," I kept saying. I had an idea of a townhouse I could make, but it was just an idea. Something for the new year.
But then, last weekend, I found a second entry plagiarized from my Ishøj House and realised that there was a possibility a copy of my work may win the competition. So I got out my bricks and built, built, built!
I hope you guys enjoy this, it's a total beast to take photos of so please check out the other angles in the Brickshelf gallery (WM).
