i just realized it's like those portraits painted at mall kiosks by asian women. (only this is velvet)
they are all very good, but a little off, and all tend to sort of have characteristics of the artist... white man, old couple, whatever- all end up kind of asian.
which is maybe why wesley looks sort of like a proud chinese communist female worker here.
