Weird. The two look exactly the same to me on
my machine (even though they're obviously
different in your screenshots). I think I
like this one better.

Yeah I wanted to make the notification small,
but it does make the album art a bit tiny.
Once I figure out how to add preferences,
I'll make "big" version.

Looks great—I love how you can make your own
growl styles with just CSS. I was playing
around with making my own awhile back, but
then realized I love the lower 3rd one too
much to use anything else

@Rob G: Yeah, the music video style is great,
but I don't like that it can't stack up
multiple notifications like the newer styles
do. I just realized that you can set
different styles for different applications -
or even different notifications within
applications. So that's handy.

Do you mean you want to know what song
another computer is playing when you say over
the network? Or you iTunes library is stored
on a network disk?

The first one. All my music is on the mini in
the living room, and I'm controlling it from
my laptop. It's supergeek.

Yup, Remote Desktop plus a set of custom
AppleScripts mapped to the media control keys
on my keyboard. It plays out of the 7.1
system in the living room (when it's on), and
streams back to the Hi-Fi in the bedroom.

Sweet. I remember that you said you played a
trick on Laura and friends while watching
Entourage. Do you have the Mac Mini hooked
up to the TV via DVI-to-HDMI cable? And are
are you using SwitchResX? If not what?
Sorry for all of the questions.

:) Consider this a FAQ on setting up a home
media center. Yup, mini is hooked up via
DVI-HDMI. I tried SwitchResX, but it didn't
end up working properly with my TV. I just
run the mini at 1280x720 with overscan turned
on. It cuts off a few pixels on the top and
bottom, but it's good for video. It hides the
menu bar, but I can see all that through
Remote Desktop anyway, and don't need it when
I'm just using the remote. I use Remote Buddy to control everything, and it works pretty
well.
