Ahhh but time flies. Earlier this year I happened upon a fledgling barred owl at this covered bridge/photo blind in the Pee Dee NWR. At that time, songs of prothonotary and hooded warblers filled the air.
Today leaves are falling and the piercing calls of pileated woodpeckers, shafted flickers, and blue jays break the silence. I did see 3 wood ducks to the right of the bridge.
