It's time to vamos -- our 10 days in Spain is over. Tomorrow we make the long trek from Barcelona to New York.

We spend our last day with two native sons: Antonio Gaudi and Joan Miro. In the morning, we wandered through Gaudi's cathedral, Sagrada Familia -- started in the 1920's and still a work in progress. But nonetheless breath-taking. The stain glass is modern and vibrant. The interior columns give you the feeling of looking up into the forest canopy. Then we took a funicular train to the Miro museum, high on a hill overlooking the city. We spent a lot of time discussing a very abstract painting of a lark, a poppy, and a field of diamonds. Julian will give you the details.

Thursday's picture was taken from our terrace, overlooking the square where young people are protesting. I'll send a New York Times article about it (stop groaning, Merle).

We spent Thursday at Gaudi's Parc Guell overlooking downtown Bacelona. Julian got some good pictures.

Dinner at home, with dessert of the terrace. Then a walk on Las Ramblas to see street performers and buy some street art.
