well yarbroughtcodie, the thing that is abducted with an abortion is not a baby. it is a lump of cells and later a fetus. there is no brain activity in a fetus at lest till the 24th week of pregnancie. that means that there is no pain experiences in almost all abortions.

Picturing Ethics says:

Regardless of anyone's ethical beliefs about abortion, I find it alarming that the dominant social setting does not allow us to openly discuss this issue. It is especially alarming to think that we have harmed so many women and men by silencing them. In Japan, they have Jizo, a bodhisattva who acknowledges and blesses the unborn. I like Jizo!

Thanks for the links to photos of dead fetal tissue youth_pastor. Manipulating people's sensori-emotions is the oldest trick in the book. Here's a photo of a tooth extraction to prove my point.

Gross? Yes. Necessary? Yes.

I believe person-hood occurs at birth.

It's important to understand that Partial Birth Abortion is not a medical term. The description was coined by congressman Charles T. Canady from Florida.

It describes several types of abortions performed at 18 to 24 weeks of pregnancy, as well as procedures involving the dilation of the cervix to remove a deceased fetus.

I don't like second trimester abortions because the medical risks are much higher at a late stage. Several survey-type studies have indicated that there is no single reason why women have abortions in the second trimester. However, I know that whatever the reasons might be, they are none of my business.

It's none of their business either.

Not Perfect Just Forgiven says:

Ahhh I found you youth pastor you seemed to have run away from an actual discussion on another board. So I post again. Youth pastor in resonse to your comments.
1. A baby in the mother's womb is still utilizing oxygen via the umbilical cord. What about the oxygen a baby receives outside the womb is different than the oxygen he receives inside? The answer is 'there is none.'

2. Before the "breath of life" was breathed into the nostrils of Adam (if you take this literally, since the God the Bible doesn't breathe air), Adam would have been nothing more than a lump of dirt (as you pointed out). Dirt is not living. No living cells. No growth. No DNA. There's an insurmountable difference between the yet-to-be-living Adam and an unborn baby.

3. You said, "Until these children are born and breath they are not alive. They live because their mother lives." Do you see where you contradict your first sentence in the very next sentence? First sentence: "they are not alive." Second sentence, "They live..."

I say:
1 In short the ability to breath oxygen and utilize it effectavly is the difference. The child did not breath the oxygen in the mother did. Cancer cells multiple and use the oxygen in the blood stream of the host. Using your logic this means that cancer which is made of mutated human DNA is alive and should be protected. Or is not all dividing cells made of human DNA human life?

2 You seem to be saying because Adam was made from dirt, which God has the ability to make live, he is not the same as a potential baby. See that logic means that if God wanted a person to live he has to make them from what you call living cells AND you are limiting the power of the Almighty God. You also seem to be saying Adam the foundation of all mankind really wasn't valuable while God was creating him because he was just an idea and not made of living cells ( and these cells ability to divid does not make them alive ). Either way a lump of cells that is not breathing is not a living baby just as non breathing dirt is not a living man.

3 I can understand your confusion in my wording and hopefully I can clarify it here. I believe if a parent is expecting a child they have every right to believe that it is living inside of them and is a seperate entity. However, as a profesional I know that this child is not living independantly of it's mother and therefore can not live on it's own. I use the word Alive to describe a person who is independant of devices or people keeping it alive. A brain dead pt. with no independant functioning is not Alive.

??? Do you support medically necesary Dialation and Curettage (D&C) or Dilation and evacuation (D&E)? Do you fault mothers who abort their children? Do you fault all abortionists?

Some thing to think about when viewing the abortion videos provided by posters such as youth pastor. Those fetuses are greater than 8 weeks and some greater than 12 weeks. So TheeErin was right shock and gross is what drives the emotional train that youth pastor rides on.

In 2004, for women from areas where weeks of gestation at the time of abortion were adequately reported (44 reporting areas), 61% of reported legal induced abortions were known to have been obtained at <8 weeks' gestation and 87% at <12 weeks (Table 6). Overall (41 reporting areas), 28% of abortions were known to have been performed at 21 weeks.

Absolutely brilliant, theft should should be legal too. I mean poor people are always going to steal. Speeding should be legal, some people are really late. Sex at any age should be legal, people that have to get their rocks off going to do it anyway, like that 53 year old guy with his 8 year old nice.

If it comes down to the health of a woman, try to save both of them, especially the child! I've asked my wife this very question & she would give her life in a heartbeat for her unborn child, even if she was poor, living homeless, on drugs, or in a mansion.

Jesus said: Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends

If a baby was born pre-mature and the mother & baby were driving down the road with the mothers boyfriend driving. should the baby be put in the front seat (and mom ride in the back) where it's more dangerous because it wasn't supposed to be born yet anyway?
No, you would think that was sick because you can see that baby as a tangible life!

PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO STOP THINKING ABOUT THEMSELVES IF YOU WANT TO HAVE REAL HOPE!!!!! Not some political slogan.

PLEASE search the internet for abortion photos! Please!
...but don't let your kids see them, because you wouldn't want them to know what the adults in this world have been up to.

Ok, so who's going to care for these unplanned babies? (planned by God, but not by you.)

I know in my church we have COUNTLESS adoptive parents with babies from around the world, we STRONGLY support our local Pregnancy Resource Center, as well as our City Mission.

As far as prevention, We have the "Silver Ring Thing", Youth Ministries & resources to support teens in every way possible.

Even if you don't believe in God, you still have to do the research yourself to make a determination in your heart if this is life or not. Don't listen only to your church, your friends, your co-workers or your government leaders. YOU figure it out. YOU do the research. YOU search your heart.

As far as I'm concerned. IT IS LIFE! (no matter what, it's not the baby's fault or problem) it's only nine months away. Let's get together & help this new mom out, You & I can do it!

You in?

Abortion is a necessary evil but I dont know why people like you want it to be thought of so nonchalantly it is a horrid thing, it is hell on the womans body and it destroys something that otherwise is very precious. I am pro choice but abortion is not a trip to the nail shop. Women are having more and more multiple abortions because of this mentality its just a clump of cells. Abortion should not be encouraged. Abortion should not be flaunted. I would never flaunt the fact that I denied somebody their chance at life regardless what my reason was.

Every body has their own views and opinions thus we all make different choices in life as we are the only ones who know what we want... weather its abortion or having a baby.
Whoever claims abortion to be murder and have cruel views and comments towards those who have had abortions are so narrow minded and inconsiderate, some poeple may have had it due to reasons such as rape and there is you saying "Too bad your mommas didn't abort you..." who are you to judge other people's choices? If you think it is wrong don't do it ... simple as, you have no right to interfere in other people's choices. Everybody has their own right to do what they want with their body for their own reasons, so just worry about your own!

Sad this kind of primitive discussion still happens in our world. Abortion is a right that must be granted by the law and by the social security sistem. And if a woman wants to have an abortion, it must be her legal right to do so. Any moral discussion on this subject is stupid and empty. This an ethical issue, not a moral one. And if this prolife supporters don't know the difference, go back to university or go read a good ethics book! Stop thinking like if you were living in the middle ages!
