Christmas Tree Pick-Up: 2009 Edition

Every year people who don't think twice about hauling a Christmas tree home for the season, also don't think twice about improperly (and illegally) pitching it curbside and letting it become someone else's problem. For the fourth straight new year that's where me and my truck come in. This year Susan joined me as I removed seven trees -- all found within a half-mile of our house -- and transported them to the recycling center in Griffith Park.

The good news was that after the truck was overloaded, we didn't pass another discarded tree on our way to the drop-off.
