6205 Fulton Avenue. My first apartment was in here. A nice-sized single.
The primary reason for finding a place here was my friend Russell lived here (in the tiny bachelor above the entryway) while attending Valley College. Back then there was plate glass doors and it wasn't intercom'd.

I lived here from 1986 until 1988. Monumental place in terms of where my life is now. The woman who would become my first wife also lived here and we would later manage this building for the owners. It wasn't in a great part of Van Nuys, but we had a two-bedroom apartment rent-free as part of the deal. We made a huge mistake giving that up to move to Burbank to manage a bigger building for a smaller apartment that wasn't entirely rent free.
