Focus on the huge aircraft and the fluorescent gash.
A dreadful time for the families of the men who died.
I'm rather surprised The President was there in person, rather than send a military representative.
Speaks volumes about the man.

As the Aunt of a service memeber serving in Afghanistan for his 2nd tour, I thank the President for meeting those making their final trip home. I think every member of the White House staff, the House and Senete should be on a rotation to Dover. Then maybe they too will take the time to think this thru instead of criticizing those who do.

Bless that family that had the courage to allow this to be filmed, so that every American can see this for themselves.

Ok I am going to go out on a limb here and say that although it was noble to pick up the flag before some dofus burned it on a baseball field, it is in no way heroic.

Now sitting in some third world hell hole, with the sniper fire of 60 enemy combatants coming at you at all directions, while crawling on you belly to save the life of someone else, that is heroic.

Please let me direct you to this photo of the parents of Medal Of Honor recipient Army Sgt. 1st. Class Jared C. Monti.

The idea is: They are all fighting for the honor of our "Freedom" that the flag represents. Not an argument that one is more of a hero than the other. They are all Freedom fighters is the message. Heroes ALL.
How does that make me a beast...... Liberals want to make an issue where there is NO issue. Saul Alinsky comes to mind?
Alinsky summarized it this way: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it… (In other words "demonize" the target ")

Yes Vittles please continue to post your hate, this soldier gave his life so you could.

FYI, The President was at a meeting with Tribal Leaders (you might remember them, the indigenous people of this country who were slaughtered by foreigners in the name of Christianity) when this event at Ft. Hood happened. He interrupted his planned speech to address that tragedy. So typical of you to blame it on people of Islamic faith. Your prejudice is so refreshingly disgusting.

This post says a lot about your character, and its pathetic.

God bless people like fortheloveofamerica, that dare to come out and speak out what this noble President means to them personally.

One of the treats that endear me and win me for Barack Obama is that he is ready to put himself at the test again and again, when the dignity of human beings is at stake.

He has fought for the dignity of women, of blacks, of middle class people, of the sick and the wounded, for the dignity of gay people, and for the human dignity of the US soldiers.

This kind of "emotional labour", like we can see the Great Man performing on this photo, is worth our reverence.

As an alert non-American, I really hope the spiteful and otherwise negative reactions against this great leader the people of the USA have elected will cease. Republican politicians and tv chains like Fox news should stop the seeds of hatred in their hearts to grow. Should open up for all the Good that this Leader has to offer to his nation.

President Obama's Militant Muslim Connections | Print | E-mail
Written by William F. Jasper
Monday, 02 February 2009 18:56

President Barack Obama's inaugural committee billed his January 20 National Prayer Service at the National Cathedral as a celebration of America's "diversity of faith." Among the official participants offering prayers at the event was Dr. Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America.

Mattson was also a guest speaker later that evening at the first Muslim Inaugural Celebration at the Thurgood Marshall Center in Washington, D.C. This was not the first time Mattson had been so honored at Obama shindigs; she was also given center stage at the Democratic Convention's opening interfaith prayer service last August in Denver.

In selecting Dr. Mattson for these high-profile events, Obama has pointedly chosen to disregard the fact that the organization she heads, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and its subsidiary foundation, the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), have long-standing ties to terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Muslim Brotherhood. The U.S. government lists ISNA and NAIT as "unindicted co-conspirators" in the terrorism-funding trial of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF). The foundation was charged with conspiracy and providing millions of dollars to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. In November of 2008, a jury in Dallas, Texas, delivered guilty verdicts on 108 separate charges against HLF and seven of its officers.

God help our brave and wonderful soldiers: They will understand this!

Gubmint and How Gubmint Works

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone might steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman's position and hired a night watchman for the job.

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instructions?" So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So They created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, Then hired two people.

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one Year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost."

So they laid off the night watchman.

NOW slowly, let this sink in.

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter.

Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY.... during the Carter Administration?

Anybody? Anything?

No? Didn't think so!

Bottom line. We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency...the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember!

Ready??
It was very simple...and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977.

TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

Hey, pretty efficient, huh???

AND NOW IT'S 2009 -- 32 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WAS I THINKING?"

Ah, yes -- Good Ole Bureaucracy.

AND, NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TURN THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY OVER TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?

HELLOOO! Anybody Home

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with an individual associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

Army knew suspected Fort Hood gunman had contact with al Qaeda recruiter.

According to the officials, the Army was informed of Hasan's contact, but it is unclear what, if anything, the Army did in response.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused.
