Great shot. I agree with tangledstrings; President Obama seems to have a wonderful repoire with children. The presence of children at the white house over the last few years seems kind of sad, Sure there have been children, but the toddlers seem way too under-represented and they bring out the innocence in most of us. Perhaps an hour or two a day with toddlers should be a requirement of our leaders.

Flag in distress 11/04/08 says:

What will the future hold for our children:
So far, we have more than an alarming 10% unemployment"

This, from Financial Armageddon>
Fraud in non-financial sectors? Say it ain't so. Well why should auditors and management be committed to truthful accounting if the example set by our powers that be is to deny, deny, deny

[They] don't want to change the bankers, because if we do, if we put honest people in, who didn't cause the problem, their first job would be to find the scope of the problem. And that would destroy the cover up....

Geithner is ... covering up. Just like Paulson did before him....

These are all people who have failed. Paulson failed, Geithner failed. They were all promoted because they failed....

Until you get the facts, it's harder to blow all this up. And, of course, the entire strategy is to keep people from getting the facts....

[Question] Are you saying that Timothy Geithner, the Secretary of the Treasury, and others in the administration, with the banks, are engaged in a cover up to keep us from knowing what went wrong?

[Black] Absolutely....

They're deliberately leaving in place the people that caused the problem, because they don't want the facts. And this is not new.

The fact that this man that is now a president of a large country, has once been a fatherless boy, of mixed descent, with a heroic but often absent mother... and that he is now still in contact with the child in him, able to play, while he carries the load of the trouble of countries and peoples from around the globe, and is able to discuss these issues with the leaders of those countries, isn't this a miracle by itself?

Flag, everything you are describing is the result of Bush's presidency. The Bush and Cheney duo with their ill fated advisers ran this country to where it is (and trust me, it would be much worse had it not been for the intervention from Obama).

You need professional help. Get it. Bring your checkbook, you will need it.

Guess WHAT? Super stimulus...saves more jobs than actually exist!

Beware all ye who doubt the power of the super stimulus. The Associated Press documents the proof.

President Barack Obama's economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there.

Inevitable2 says:

SAVANNAH, Ga. – An Army cook and single mom may face criminal charges after she skipped her deployment flight to Afghanistan because, she said, no one was available to care for her infant son while she was overseas.

Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, 21, claims she had no choice but to refuse deployment orders because the only family she had to care for her 10-month-old son — her mother — was overwhelmed by the task, already caring for three other relatives with health problems.

Her civilian attorney, Rai Sue Sussman, said Monday that one of Hutchinson's superiors told her she would have to deploy anyway and place the child in foster care.

"For her it was like, 'I couldn't abandon my child,'" Sussman said. "She was really afraid of what would happen, that if she showed up they would send her to Afghanistan anyway and put her son with child protective services."

Hutchinson, who is from Oakland, Calif., remained confined Monday to the boundaries of Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, 10 days after military police arrested her for skipping her unit's flight. No charges have been filed, but a spokesman for the Army post said commanders were investigating.

Peek a boo, don't look now but recovery.gov is reporting BOGUS JOBs

The problem with Recovery.gov is not human reporting error, but an error of human design. Highly trained professional economists don’t agree on how to tell when a job has been “saved or created” yet the Obama administration expects a Kentucky shoe-store owner to accurately create such data? “Just throwing in any number.” That just about sums up the accuracy of Recovery.gov. And the usually compliant mainstream press is beginning to notice.

The Washington Examiner has begun tracking stories from established media outlets on bogus job claims made by the Obama administration and they have already identified 75,343 fake jobs out of the 640,000 that the Obama administration claimed. You can track Obama job fakery from around the country on the Examiner’s interactive “Bogus Jobs” map here.

Thank you, Flickr memeber Inevitable 2, I read the news on single mom soldier Hutchinson too. I was moved.

I would like to talk politics for a moment here. That is what the president is good at. It normally is not my strongest side.

But if I remember well, both the Irak war and the Afgan war have been started on false or not so valid grounds: there where no rockets in Iraq; the need for revenge after the attack on Manhattan was not very honorable and should by now have come to an end.

Some say the Taliban need to be countered.
Is Afganistan a close allie with historical ties to the USA? Like England or Belgium for instance? (The historical ties with UK are so close and important that the president wears a white tie on protocol when the British Queen comes on official visit... ). THEN it would be appropriate to go there and help the foreign nation to sort out problems indeed. But what are Americans doing in a far away country with exotic culture like Afganistan? Please. Why are you sending single moms to that mountains and plains and urban area's to go and be killed? It is clear that your presence there is not bringing peace. Your military presence is a factor that is causing distress.
I would like to tell president Obama that to me his decisions on these two far away wars are the real criterion that will show me who Barack Hussein Obama is today. I have never understood why Barack Obama is not more firmly against those military engagements. Thank you.
