• As soon as I returned home (to Denver) after the charge was dismissed and I was released from jail, I began to be harassed constantly. Cars often followed me wherever I drove. Men parked in front of my house for hours. I discovered doors to my house unlocked. Even my outdoor security lights were unscrewed.

• (After he married his second wife, Paula) we intended to return to the U.S. But after months of bureaucratic pitfalls foiling our attempts at obtaining a permanent visa for Paula, we decided to stay awhile. Paula did not particularly want to go to the U.S., and I had lost everything there anyway.

• In late July of 2004, Paula and I delivered a short sample video (from ground zero) to the producers of a very popular television show.

Within days, an "unrestricted" arrest order, accompanied by the extradition request, was delivered to Argentine authorities by the United States embassy.

I had no idea that the dismissed case against me had been refiled and the nightmare had been inexplicably revived.

• In March of 2005, after spending seven more months in prison in Argentina, the extradition request was refused and I was again released from prison.

The campaign to intimidate and harass me and my family has increased significantly since then. I have been tortured, falsely accused and imprisoned, not once but two times, bankrupted, my reputation destroyed by their lies.

My wife, my precious babies and I live as virtual prisoners inside our house because we are afraid for our lives.

And it continues even now.

This is NOT a conspiracy theory.
Kurt Sonnenfeld is NOT a terrorist!
Kurt Sonnenfeld is not a a dangerous person.

Kurt Sonnenfeld loves his country, but the secret services want him to lose his credibility Mr President, because he knows too much.
Lies, killing, terror, intimidations, harassment, and impunity cannot be the policy of America, such as the terrorist administration of Mr. Bush practiced against his own population, and against the entire world.

You are speaking often kindly to the people, and all the people are carefully leasing to you around the world. You ask people for answers. You ask people to act for the changes we need in this very moment. I'm from the people, Mr. President, one of them that don't have any kind of power.
I have experienced the brutal apartheid of racist Norway, like many afroamericans did it i in the United States of America Mr. President, and ask you for help, -as a refugee, as a human being-, in the middle of a time of desperation for many.

Yes, because you are the President for all of them, not only for the Army. You are the President for the mothers and the fathers, the childrens and for the new generation that don't know so much about hatefulness acts of impunity.

Mr. President I ask you in my ignorance how much we may wait for changes to the peoples life with justis, the truth and the same spirit of Mr Martin Luther King in all the human relations.

As a contract employee for FEMA's Colorado regional branch, 35 year old Kurt Sonnenfeld was dispatched to videotape and photograph the rescue and recovery effort at ground zero in the weeks after the 9/11 attacks. There was no restriction on what Sonnenfeld could film and no documents were signed by him that passed ownership of the footage to FEMA. According to the TVtechnology website, Sonnenfeld was FEMA's Denver-based Region 8 Public Affairs Officer and he worked the site as one of only four FEMA photographers along with FEMA's Denver-based Region 8 Deputy Public Affairs officer Jim Chestnutt.

Sonnenfeld's accomplishments include:
