Nice bokeh. It's also quite good how you got the exposure on President Obama perfectly while still retaining some detail outside the window. Although the left bit is blown, that works well with this photo as it allows the flag to establish itself as the boundary.

Now I'm going to scour your photostream to see if you have any photos that would work well as tiles in this project of mine.

Maybe it is selected and posted explicitly because it does impart this feeling to the viewer, but I actually really love that as I sit at work on Sunday, so does the President. I've never felt patriotic looking at a demonstration of military might or of the gleaming towers of industry. This, though, is different. Right now, I feel pretty patriotic.

Initially I thought it was pretty cool that the White House posted pictures on Flickr, gives the general public a unique look into world that many will never see. However, I have to admit, it's far more humorous reading all the comments posted. If there's one thing true about the Flickr community, they love to critique.

As for Judge Sotomayor, I have strong misgivings against her ability to be racially unbiased, but she should give an interesting mix to the current court if approved. But truthfully, race will never stop being an issue until we as a society get to a point where we don't look at it anymore. Case in point, there used to be a time when we delineated Polish, Germans, Italians, etc. Now we just call them all Caucasian. Hopefully there will be a time when we are all called Human.

tragicfame.....we are all human, it is the overwhelming reputation of a race that some are afraid of.
If a black person knocks on the home of a white neighborhood the householder is naturally suspicious.
If a white man in a business suit walks down a Harlem street in NYC...he will be followed and heckled. Maybe worse. WHY do you suppose that is? There is a reason.
Remember it is the reputation of the race that causes the problem of good relations between races. Some White groups can establish a bad reputation also. I don't believe this can be changed as it has been going on since the beginning of time. However we can try to improve relations within races.

I too was wondering how the exposure could work for both the indoors and outdoors portions of this shot. My conclusion is that either it's starting to get dark outside, or there's quite a bit of light inside.
