This must be difficult for her but I'm sure the President is sensitive enough to realise that. Excellent shot.

I love this. All decisions should be made at a picnic table!

Civilian Scrabble - if you look at the comments on the other photos here, you would see this is not the case.
anyay, it is interesting to read the little plaque on the table, which includes a "thank you" from the people who built the table and the rest of the playground to the white house for the privilege of building it.
i can understand why they'd feel that way, but it is rather backwards from how things normally are. one of the bizarre quirks of the white house world.

All meetings should be held at a picnic table. Natural light and fresh air are way better than fluorescent lights and closed in air.

It must be fun to be Pete.

That's a free ad for Rainbow Systems on the table, I saw the same thing...smart. Might have been unintentional, but any marketer worth their salt would know that the first playset on the lawn of the whitehouse was going to be chock full of photo opps...

One interesting thing about this table - it's brand new as of the time when they were sitting.
Look at the plaque on the table for a bit of insight into its origin. Easily visible at "original" size.

Hey, Hillary! I bet Bill never had a gold-inlayed picnic table built for his family by Team Rainbow, did he?

Great Shot - a moment of time, a moment of life, in an image. To convey to the viewer not simply a picture, but a memory and a feeling.

Great image, the table beams forming an arch or bridge coming together, very subtle, very cool.
