smoke in a glass (4) redone

    Newer Older

Yay this shot came 8th in "Digital Photo" Magazines round 4 Digital art competition.
Glass was suspended by wire in-between a black V shaped background, and a Bottle with an incense stick attached used to pour smoke upwards. Image was converted to black and white, then rotated 180 degrees and colours inverted, Colours were then added as overlay layers of blue, red and green in different opacities.

Strobist: sunpak 26Dx set to 1/16 with snoot suspended above the bottom of glass (i.e. bottom of this picture)
Sunpak 36dx camera left set to 1/8 with cardboard barn doors to keep as much off the glass as possible and only hit the smoke.

Thanks for telling me, I actually publish most of my images under a creative commons license, (Attribution-Non-Commercial) so people can use them in derivative works, however I've had to request a take down of their image as they violate the terms of the license by 1. not crediting me and providing a link to the original, and 2. Having it available as a commercial product. I'm not making money from my images I don't believe others should either
