How sweet life is...
So I showed up for the Christmas pageant at church last night... my two girls were in it, I was a reader, too, and before I took 20 steps in the door, I was told that they had forgot to line up a photographer for the evening. Perfect. Having camera bag in hand, I said yes, declined the $ offer. I have my picts online, which people can buy if they want or just look. I don't mind freebies every once in a while especially for my church because they have been so good to me.
Enough about me... how can you miss this sweet girl. She's one of my daughter's bffs. She's an angel.
Hubby liked the color version, I obviously liked this one. She has such a classic look.

I paid her one dollar to model and ond dollar to wear the hat.
I got to play with my 40D, and... I love it.
Due to the weather, (which would actual probably considered great for other parts of the country, but for us Houstonians, we refuse to go out in it unless we absolutely have to,) I had to postpone two shoots. I hadn't even had a chance to play with my camera because it was an emergency purchase because I think the sensor is faulty with my XSi.
At first, I was about as excited about the purchase as I would for getting a new dishwasher, necessary and functional. Peeple, as dumb as this revelation is.... having photography as your work is WORK. I like it, but it is A LOT of work. But work without the right tools is even more work and frustrating. I love my new camera now, and I can't wait to WORK this weekend to see how it does. Of course, I going to enjoy the couple days off... hee hee hee. I can catch up with my bookkeeping... weeeeeeeee.

I'm still alive... still in my bathrobe.
Haven't had much time to play lately, but perhaps I should have a bit of free time here and there.
Haven't had a chance to play around with my new camera either... maybe today?
Perhaps I might have time to swing by your sites and say hello, too. I have a bit of editing and ordering to do, and wrapping presents.... so we shall see.

Test shot of my sweet girl...
I think the sensor on my other camera was on the fritz, so what does any insane person do... go out and buy another camera. I really couldn't wait until it was fixed, and while I had borrowed another camera... (did I mention... crazy move... but only kind of... I went with the 40D instead of my dream Mark II D... so I think that makes me only slightly crazy.)
I also had to purchase a 580 II, so I could shoot indoor... I am not a lover of flash (this was not taken with a flash,) but you need certain things to work sometimes... like a working camera and a flash.
I'm having a little calm before the storm, so I may or may not be able to poke my head in and say hello.
