G8 leaders - Oxfam photo stunt![]() An Oxfam campaign stunt prior to the start of the G8 Rally in Rostock on Saturday 2 June 2007. The stunt shows the G8 leaders gambling away Africa's future; the poker chips heavily stacked against just one African player who emerges with no money, from an unfair game.
The set starts with the early morning set-up of the stunt outside Rostock Bahnhof; the first 'Big Heads' team pictures; the ensuing press and photo melee over the course of 2 hours (!); and then a set of pics of the Big Heads gambling jovially over Africa, and the game's outcome - pennies for Africa while the rich countries roll in their winnings! African Representative: Mark Asamoah, German Musician and lead supporter of the Global Campaign for Education. My part? I quickly designed the playing cards. Not that you see much of them...
