Hari Dasu, India. c. 1900?

Hari Dasu, India. c. 1900? by whatsthatpicture.
Hand captioned "Indian Juggler", but subsequently identified as Hari Dasu (see comments)

This is one of a selection of lantern slides dating I estimate to c. 1900. The set appears to be a personal collection, with items connected to Northern Ireland, missionary work, the YMCA, and India

He is not juggler. We call him "hari dasu", during January - Sankranthi festival (crop festival), they sing songs and move around streets to get alms. You can see recent photos on flickr it self.
Similar attire is used by Harikatha folks (see wiki link).

thanks so much for the information and links - although the slide itself was captioned "Indian Juggler" it is wonderful to know the full (and correct) story.
