Just playing in the yard, looking for ways to add interest to photos while sticking to my SOOC approach. I've been seeking backgrounds to bokeh, but this time I also opted to try out deliberate foreground bokeh as well.

A friend had a surprise 40th birthday party last night. I normally would have left my camera at home. For one, the party was held both indoors (at our church) and in the evening. Certainly not the best light (hence my ISO 400). For another, no wee beasties would be there. I'm only half joking about that one because I do take my camera to church events held outdoors with plenty of sunshine. Although, truthfully, most our gatherings seem to take place at homes with critters. All this rambling simply to say that I was asked to bring along my camera to take photos, mainly to document who came to the party. Here's a few photos that I thought were fun. The rest are dumped into a set and buried in my stream.

Couldn't resist putting together a short series of photos from our outing yesterday. I do try to get Magnus to put down his weapon (the jolly ball) from time to time, especially when I am thinking about taking da boyz into the field or woods. Would hate to lose his jolly ball. However, yesterday, they were having so much fun in this part of our yard that we never left.

Whenever I take da boyz out for a romp, Cumin sees us to the door. Then she remains there waiting for us to return. We don't typically spend much time in the front yard, so Cumin doesn't even get to watch da boyz in action (today Vidalia watched us from the master bedroom window). Once we return, Cumin dances and chirps and arches her back, pacing up and down the railing trying to get me to give her some loving. No wonder why Cumin has an extra special place in my heart. . .

Nice to have something extra to wear Magnus out each day. The jolly ball really isn't overly heavy, but hauling it everywhere is a workout for the boy. Plus, he likes to swing it at Bogart as a weapon. Poor Bogart. The jolly ball was a fabulous acquisition. After all, Magnus is snoozing on the floor by me.

I guess I am rather a prolific photographer. After all, I have 196 photos to sort. Granted, ninety of them are a "photoshoot" with Gumbo to choose his final 52 weeks post. I knew I went overboard, but I didn't want to repeat the photoshoot. You'll see why later. I'm sure about another hundred are from daily outings with da boyz. Don't worry, most won't see the front of my stream. I'll just dump them into my archives.
