Menken's

AMC's Mad Men is undeniably good television. The attention to detail for the sets, the costumes, hairstyles, attitudes and language is wonderful.

However, in the third episode of the first season, "Marriage of Figaro", I noticed this ad Don Draper visited Rachel Menken's family department store.

Besides the LOUSY kerning (is that "s" leaving for a train?), it's obviously P22 Cezanne, designed rougly 35 years AFTER the scene occurred. Besides, it doesn't look like a 1960's department store logo anyway!

Good find. This logo seems to be the font without any editing.
