Normally I curse the haze when shooting landscapes, but occasionally it works in your favour. This was the case as I went to Pwllderi on the north Pembrokeshire coast to capture what looked to be a developing sunset. The expected sunset didn't really develop but thanks to the layerd cloud and the level of haze there was a short period where I was treated to an amazing show of rays. I've taken this to be dark and moody which reflected the conditions when I arrived. The scene is scattered with seabirds returning to their roosts on shore, hence the title. The first of five images which will appear over the next few days.
