      This is pretty a pretty straight forward one. This was shot from the observation deck at The Empire State Building with a telephoto lens. The blurring on the top and bottom are a simulated tilt-shift lens effect applied using onOne Software's Focal Point. You could get a similar look optically, but tilt-shift lenses cost a lot of $$$.
